After quite a research (yes, research, tu vas voir comment c’était), I decided that the five I would personally prefer are:
1. I write
2. Piece of Damascus
3. Iodine
4. Ghosts
5. Life/Grief
The last one is a choice between two because those were the best amongst the second best ranked. The best of of the best amounted initially, strangely, exactly to five, and it was really funny me excluding “Exit” as it is, not one of the most beautiful of your poems, but one of the most beautiful of all the poems I have read in my lifetime, and I have read little. I had to exclude it, however, because it has practically the very same voice as “Piece of Damascus,” and as “Ghosts” and “I Write” are already long, and as our “exotic” settings cause some to salivate, play it à la Gibranienne and suddenly flaunt your exotic identity and choose “A Piece of Damascus” over “Exit”…
